π»π¨ Mission 3: Operation Pollock & the Supercomputers
When art, technology, and creativity collide in the Sky Room!
This week, the Skyers Crew continued their journey through space, but this time, the mission took place right inside our classroom! πβ¨
We have officially installed two new high-speed interfaces. Yes, our very own supercomputers! π»π« With them, our astronauts can now stay up to date with the latest galactic data and complete exciting new missions:
πΉοΈ Letter Space Invaders: typing and spelling challenges from outer space!
β¨οΈ Typing Task 3000: speed and precision training for digital explorers.
π― Catch that Shape Bandit!: a geometry chase to capture sneaky shapes hiding across the screen.
π Mission Europa: learning the flags and countries of our continent like true interplanetary diplomats!
Every Skyer has shown focus, patience, and teamwork; our class has truly become a Space Research Centre filled with curiosity and discovery.
And yes… we know, we know parents what you’re all waiting for a sneak peek into our Sky Room Art Mission! π¨πͺ
This month, our scientists and artists joined forces to recreate the legendary style of Jackson Pollock, the master of action painting. Inspired by his famous drip technique, we splashed, poured, and flicked paint like cosmic energy bursts! π«
With the help of our Sky Scientists, we managed to recover and recreate Pollock’s lost works, bringing colour, movement, and a bit of controlled chaos to our space station walls. The results? Simply out of this world! πποΈ
Whenever the Irish weather allows it and the rain gives us a break, our Skyers put on their space suits and head out for a real spacewalk or as we call it here on Earth, a community walk! πΆβοΈπ€οΈ
We explore the surroundings of our school, greet friendly faces, and discover new “planets” (shops, parks, or playgrounds) nearby. Every spacewalk helps our astronauts practise independence, communication, and road safety while filling the day with fresh air and smiles. πβ¨
Before the darkness of winter settles in and sunlight becomes scarce, our crew also enjoyed an informal lunch together in the school yard. βοΈπ§Ί It was a perfect moment to share food, laughter, and warmth — a well-deserved reward after weeks of hard work.
And of course, after every mission comes the cleanup operation! π§½πͺ£
Our Skyers rolled up their sleeves and helped tidy up the workstation areas; part of our Life Skills Training programme. Cleaning, organising art tools, and caring for our shared space are all part of learning independence and teamwork. Because every real astronaut knows that a clean base is a happy base! π§Ίπ
As always, every mission reminds us that in the Sky Room we learn, laugh, create, and grow together.
Because we are a team. We are a crew. We are…
β¨ THE SKYERS! π
