This week, our Skyers Crew embarked on a brand-new mission, a trip to the supermarket! 🛒🌍 Armed with shopping lists and picture visuals, our astronauts worked hard to find all the ingredients we needed for our Friday challenge: Pizza Day in the Sky Room! 🍅🧀
Each student used visuals and communication supports to identify items on the shelves, from cheese to peppers, from dough to tomato sauce and bacon. It was a wonderful way to practice life skills, communication, and independence while exploring the community around us. Some of our explorers even took turns pushing the trolley like real shopping pros! 💪
On Friday, our Skyers transformed into Space Chefs, ready to cook their very own pizzas! The experience was full of textures, smells, and laughter, a true sensory adventure. Everyone participated in their own way, and the smiles said it all.
After our cooking mission, the Skyers shared the extra pizzas with other classrooms so everyone could enjoy the results of our teamwork. It was a beautiful act of kindness and community spirit, because in the Sky Room, we rise together, just like our dough! 🧑🚀❤️
